The Danish journey
Five levels, one honest path.
From their very first word to fluent, comfortable conversation, wherever the student is starting from, we have the right level for them. Our school matches every student with the small group that fits them best. No guessing, no forcing.
Level 1
1
First words
BeginnerThe student is new to Danish and has no previous knowledge of the language.
- Cannot yet understand spoken or written Danish.
- Knows little or no Danish vocabulary.
- Ready to start learning from the very beginning.
Level 2
2
First sentences
ElementaryThe student understands simple words and can say a few basic words and phrases.
- Recognises common everyday vocabulary.
- Can ask and answer simple questions.
- Can communicate in short, everyday conversations.
Level 3
3
Small talk
IntermediateThe student can communicate in longer sentences and has a basic understanding of Danish grammar.
- Can build sentences, but still makes grammar mistakes.
- Can read simple texts, but does not understand everything.
- Can take part in everyday conversations on familiar topics.
Level 4
4
Confident talker
Upper IntermediateThe student communicates confidently in Danish and has a good understanding of grammar.
- Can hold conversations on a variety of everyday topics.
- Makes fewer grammar mistakes and can self-correct.
- Can read and understand most texts without difficulty.
Level 5
5
Fluent & polished
AdvancedThe student communicates fluently and confidently in Danish in most situations.
- Speaks Danish with confidence and few mistakes.
- Can read and understand a wide range of texts.
- Can express thoughts, opinions and ideas naturally.
Not sure which level fits? When you enrol, we place every student in the right small group based on their test results, their age and time zone — you never have to guess the level.
